The expertise of the Interdisciplinary Research Laboratory on Sustainable Engineering and Ecodesign (LIRIDE) focuses on life cycle impact assessment. Internationally recognized for its scientific research, LIRIDE supports industry, SMEs, and organizations in their commitment to true sustainable development supported by life cycle assessment and the circular economy. Located at the University of Sherbrooke (Canada), LIRIDE is seeking applications for the following position.

Experience in more than one of the following areas:

  • Life cycle analysis

  • Life cycle cost analysis

  • Ecodesign

  • Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)

Programming skills and competencies (e.g. VBA for Excel, Python) are an asset.


Admissibility criteria


  • Bachelor's degree and any advanced degree in engineering or equivalent

  • Have performed full life cycle assessments in accordance with ISO 14040-44 standards

  • Knowledge of carbon footprint methods

  • Knowledge of SimaPro software and databases used in life cycle assessment such as Ecoinvent

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

  • Fluency in French and English (oral and written)

  • Superior writing skills

Daily work

Contribute to LIRIDE's research activities and participate in various research projects such as: eco-design, environmental product declaration (EPD), environmental and economic life cycle analysis.

The work will be carried out within an interdisciplinary team

Write reports and presentations in a format adapted to the needs of the research partners and intended for internal and external audiences.

Develop customized solutions and tools for implementing life cycle assessment and eco-design.


Provide occasional travel for meetings with partners.
